Trump Tower Tbilisi revealed

The Trump Organization has released the first official rendering of Trump Tower Tbilisi, a planned 70-story mixed-use skyscraper that is set to become the tallest building in Georgia and the broader Caucasus region.

The announcement came via a post on X on Monday from Eric Trump, Executive Vice President of the Trump Organization. In the post, Eric Trump wrote: “I am so excited to share the official rendering of Trump Tower Tbilisi. With a prime location, in the heart of Tbilisi, this tower will quickly become a landmark as the tallest building in Georgia. This marks our first project in the region and we are so excited to bring it to life!”

The tower, designed by the global architecture firm Gensler, will anchor the $2 billion “Tbilisi Downtown” development. It will overlook the city’s Central Park and feature luxury residences, high-end retail, world-class dining, offices, and lifestyle amenities in a six-building complex. The project is a collaboration between the Trump Organization (licensing its brand), Georgian developers Archi Group, Biograpi Living, Blox Group, and Finvest Georgia, and the New York-based Sapir Organization.

Eric Trump has emphasized the project’s significance, stating in earlier comments that it will “bring this globally recognized standard of excellence to Georgia” and reflect the Trump Organization’s “highest quality standards.”

The announcement arrives amid Georgia’s ongoing political crisis under the ruling Georgian Dream (GD) party, which has faced widespread accusations of pro-Russian alignment. Critics, including the opposition, EU officials, and Western analysts, describe the government-currently led by Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze-as increasingly authoritarian and Russia-friendly. Ivanishvili remains the party’s de facto leader and faces U.S. sanctions. The government denies being “pro-Russian,” insisting it supports EU membership on Georgian terms while prioritizing “normalization” with Moscow and avoiding entanglement in the Russia-Ukraine conflict. Relations with the West have strained, with protests framing the regime as “Russian-backed” and calls for new elections and the release of political prisoners.

Some observers view the Trump Tower deal as an attempt by Georgian Dream-linked developers to curry favor with the Trump administration at a time of U.S.-Georgia tensions.
