EditSerbia’s Vučić dominates pro-government tabloids: 1,172 front-page appearances in 2025, all positive
Most of the manipulative articles praising the country’s President are not signed by their author
Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić appeared on the front pages of six daily newspapers close to the ruling authorities a staggering 1,172 times in 2025, according to a detailed analysis by the investigative media portal Raskrikavanje.
Not a single one of these articles portrayed him in a negative light.
According to the report, Vučić was presented positively in 88% of all cases, reaching a perfect 100% in the tabloid Kurir.
He appeared most frequently in Srpski telegraf (253 times), followed by Kurir (236), Alo (202), Informer (185), Večernje novosti (171), and Politika (125).

Raskrikavanje also examined manipulative and misleading headlines across these six outlets and identified 1,800 such cases in 2025. Alo led with 529 manipulative front pages, followed by Informer (399), Srpski telegraf (294), Politika (253), Večernje novosti (197), and Kurir (191).

“While students were blocking universities and citizens were taking to the streets, Serbian tabloids knew exactly what their job was — to portray protesting students and citizens as terrorists and a security threat,” Raskrikavanje noted. Student protests and civil gatherings were among the dominant topics on their front pages.
The analysis found that manipulating facts and bias were the most common techniques used by these pro-regime outlets. Večernje novosti stood out as particularly propaganda-heavy, with roughly half of its manipulative content dedicated to outright propaganda.
Nearly half of all manipulative texts were published without a named author. Kurir topped this category, with over 90% of its manipulative articles unsigned. Anonymous sources were also widespread – in Srpski telegraf, one in four manipulative texts relied on unnamed sources.
The full analysis is available on the Raskrikavanje website. The portal is known for monitoring media manipulation and propaganda in Serbia.
