The cooperative media startup
EUalive.net is an independent, Belgium-registered media outlet with editorial hubs in Brussels and Sofia, and a network of partners stretching from Ukraine to Serbia. Launched by Georgi Gotev, a veteran journalist from Euractiv.com, EUalive is dedicated to delivering high-quality reporting, insightful analysis, and diverse opinions, with a focus on underreported regions of Europe. Our mission is to deepen public understanding of EU affairs for a broad, global audience.
We thrive on collaboration, forging content partnerships with media, NGOs, and think tanks across borders. Our strength lies in amplifying voices from the EU’s most dynamic yet overlooked corners, prioritising policymaking in national capitals over Brussels’ institutional machinery. EUalive remains fiercely independent, owned and run by journalists, fueled by modest own funds, public projects, sponsorships, events, and reader donations.
Our content is free and always will be – no paywalls, no subscriptions. Sponsored content and publicly funded projects are transparently labeled. We welcome external contributors, from stakeholders with bold opinions to think tanks offering sharp analysis. EUalive also creates opportunities for laid-off journalists to continue their craft.
We support a strong, united Europe while maintaining a critical lens on EU institutions. Unapologetically clear in identifying the aggressor in the Ukraine war, EUalive launched on the 99th day of Trump’s presidency, advocating for a cohesive Europe in a chaotic world. As we grow, we aim to expand our network, incorporating new content partners from more countries.
In an era of turmoil, we believe journalism’s moment to shine is now. Join us in illuminating the stories that matter!
